When we go camping in the wild, the tent is like a house, sheltering us from wind and rain, protecting our safety. Therefore, we must fully understand this shelter in order to be more comfortable and safe when camping.

1. Can the tent have the function of keeping warm?

The tent can properly isolate the cold air. Usually warmth is integrated by tents, moisture-proof pads and sleeping bags. And sleeping bags and moisture-proof pads play a major role.

2. How to ventilate the tent?

The tent will be designed with ventilation holes, and screen windows will be set outside the tent door, which can be opened for ventilation. The top of some tents will be ventilated, and then covered with a layer of tent, which can play a good role in ventilation.

3. Why does the tent condense? How to avoid it?

When a person is in the tent, the exhaled hot air meets the cold air outside the tent and forms water drops along the inner wall. This situation is called condensation. Generally speaking, it is difficult to avoid condensation in a single-layer tent, and a double-layer tent can prevent condensation from occurring.

4. How should the windproof rope be used?

Pass the non-slip piece end of the wind rope into the buttonhole of the tent, fasten it, and then start to adjust the sliding piece end. Pull out the loop rope near the end rope tail in the slide, put the ground nails, and insert them into the ground to secure them. Tighten the front end of the windproof rope with one hand, and push the three-hole slide with the other hand toward the end of the tent. Tighten harder, the tighter the better.

5. How to use the ground nails?

Choose the location of the ground nail according to the ground conditions. Generally speaking, the smaller the angle between the windproof rope and the ground, the better the wind resistance of the tent. Insert the ground nails into the ground at an oblique angle of 45-60 degrees, and drive the ground nails at least 2/3 into the ground, so that the force is greatest.

6. What is the function of the tent skirt?

Around some tents, especially snow mountain tents, there will be floor-to-ceiling skirts around the tents, which can effectively prevent strong winds from intruding from the bottom of the tents, thereby achieving the stability and warmth of the tents.

7. What kind of pole is stronger?

Some self-built tents will use iron pipe brackets, which are low in cost but heavier; the most commonly used tent pole type is aluminum pipe, model 7001, 7075, 7178, which is strong and flexible.

8. Which fabric tent has good waterproof effect?

The waterproof treatment of tent fabrics is generally divided into three types: PA coating, PU coating and calendered PVC. PU coating is to scrape PU glue on the fabric. This coating has a soft texture, good hand feeling, strong waterproof performance and does not age. The PA coating is not sufficiently resistant to water pressure. The calendered PVC is to press a layer of PVC film on the fabric.

9. Why is the screen window placed outside the tent door?

The tent door includes a waterproof layer and a mesh layer, the waterproof layer is arranged on the side facing the inside of the tent, and the mesh layer is arranged on the side facing the outside of the tent. Such a structure can enable people who sleep in the wild in the tent to pull together the waterproof layer from the inside of the tent when it encounters windy or rainy weather. When the weather is fine, the waterproof layer can be opened from the inside for ventilation, without the need to go out of the tent to operate. At the same time, the mesh layer can also prevent small animals such as mosquitoes from entering the tent and causing trouble to people.

10. Can stoves be used in the tent?

Not possible. The tent fabrics are mostly polyester fiber, which is flammable, so there must be no open flames in and around the tent. When using the stove, keep it away from the tent, and it should be at the vent of the tent.
