It is most convenient to buy the finished nursery box directly, but we can also DIY it ourselves. If you prepare the nursery box for the dog yourself, please pay attention to the following aspects.

1. The space should be spacious enough, not only to accommodate the mother dog, but also to consider the range of activities of the puppy.

2. The nursery box should be strong enough, and the soft paper shell should not be considered. The right angle can be reinforced into a triangle, so that it is not easy to deform.

3. The height of the nursery box should be appropriate, neither too high nor too short, too high will hinder the mother dog from getting in and out, and too short a little puppy will easily crawl out.

4. Prepare a few towels in advance, or trim old clothes, and change the pads at the bottom of the nursery every few days, which is comfortable and warm. And if you throw away a few old newspapers casually, not only will it not keep you warm, but the ink on the old newspaper will stain your dog's skin, causing allergies and even dermatitis.

5. In winter production, you need to pay attention to keep warm. You can put a low-wattage low table lamp in the corner. In summer, you need to pay attention to heatstroke prevention and cooling. You can put a small electric fan outside the nursery box. It is best to place a thermometer and hygrometer in the nursery to monitor the temperature at any time.

6. For better production, the mother dog should be allowed to "stationed in a new home" in advance. The placement of the nursery box should also be relatively conservative. Although it should not be placed under the bed, at least it should not be placed in a place with strong sunlight and high noise.

With the above points, the mother dog can basically give birth comfortably. Finally, remind everyone that mother dog and little puppies also need privacy, except for necessary operations such as changing the mat, try to clean them as little as possible. Otherwise, the mother dog will feel that the nursery box is not safe, and it is not good to "move" with the little puppy in his mouth.

Dogs are most afraid of being disturbed when they give birth, so even if you don’t prepare for it, it will find a place to wait for it. Of course, you can prepare a delivery room for it, and it's best to be where you sleep on weekdays. Cover the surrounding cage where you usually sleep, so as not to walk around and noise from the outside that affect the mood of the mother dog.
